Unlock surprising ideas, reveal overlooked possibilities, and take your AI conversations in directions you never expected.
You've probably written hundreds, maybe thousands, of prompts by now.
You've taught AI to write in your voice, specify your desired outcome. Maybe you've even worked with agents, or created entire product launches.
And that's great. But...
Those questions sent me down a rabbit hole.
And what I found became Prompt Chemistry

Four counter-intuitive approaches to getting more useful and surprising results from AI.

A few words. A lot more possibilities.
Some prompts are practically essays. Others are just a handful of words. And sometimes that handful is all it takes to change the direction of a conversation. Consider these
Simple? Absolutely.
But their power isn't in their complexity. It's in the new direction they invite you to explore.
Small Prompts, Big Moves features 36 compact prompts, organized into six categories, with guidance on when to use them and how to follow up.

Old techniques. New possibilities.
Remember the early days of ChatGPT? We were discovering new prompting techniques seemingly every week. Role prompting. Few-shot prompting.
Prompt chaining. Socratic questioning. Tree of Thoughts. Some were genuinely transformative. Others were more complicated than they needed to be. Then AI evolved. Models became more capable.
Reasoning improved. Custom GPTs and agents arrived. Some of those early techniques became less necessary, and others simply faded from everyday conversation.
But did we abandon some useful ideas before discovering everything they could do?
Forgotten Prompts revisits 16 classic prompting approaches, examining why they mattered, what's changed, and how you might put them to work with today's AI.

Overlooked techniques. Underrated power.
Some of the most useful ways to work with AI don't have fancy names or elaborate frameworks. They might not even look like advanced prompting.
But they can change the questions we ask, the assumptions we make, and the decisions we reach. For example:
"Separate what you know from what you're inferring."
"Find a situation where this advice would be terrible."
"Which of my constraints are real, and which are inherited?"
These are designed to help you think more carefully about what AI is telling you.
Unsung Prompts explores 18 underappreciated techniques for identifying blind spots, examining attractive answers, challenging assumptions, and moving from possibility to better judgment.

Familiar expressions. Unfamiliar possibilities.
We use idioms constantly. Needle in a haystack. Turn the tables. Move the goalposts. Open a can of worms. Throw a wrench in the works.
They're so familiar that we barely think about them. But each one contains a miniature story, a metaphor, or a particular way of looking at a situation.
What happens when you ask AI to literally "turn the tables" on a business problem?
Or find the "needle in the haystack" inside a complicated decision?
Or identify the "elephant in the room" that everyone has been avoiding?
The Idiom Engine turns everyday expressions into prompts and creative thinking tools that can help you approach familiar problems from unfamiliar directions.
Together, they give you a collection of techniques you can draw from whenever an AI conversation feels too predictable, too superficial, or simply too ordinary.

I've been working with words professionally for decades, and one thing I've learned is that small changes in language can produce surprisingly large changes in meaning.
AI has made that relationship more fascinating than ever.
We can give these systems detailed instructions, of course.
But we can also ask unusual questions, introduce unexpected constraints, revisit forgotten techniques, and deliberately explore directions we wouldn't ordinarily consider.
We don't always know what we'll find. And I think that's part of the fun.
Prompt Chemistry isn't about finding one perfect way to prompt AI.
It's about discovering how many interesting ways there are. I'd love for you to join me in the experiment.
